About Us

Rick and Edna Peralta started Music Express Hawaii back in 1987.

Our first year in business was very challenging. Having missed the Yellow Pages deadline (Yes the Phone Book) we had to rely solely on other friends in the business for gigs.

After we got through our first year hurdles we began with doing school events such as dances and proms. We learned a lot doing these events. Students are brutally honest and it streghtened us to become really good mixing DJ’s who had to play the best songs and get everyone dancing.

After 15 years of doing the school circuit it was time to move on and do more sophisticated wedding events. Since 2003 we’ve focused our efforts to becoming a full time wedding DJ business. We took the energy and skills we’ve perfected from doing the school circuit to crushing the dance floors at weddings. We measured our success by how many people we we can stack on the dance floor. We’ve added services such as Emceeing, Uplighting, Slide Shows, Ceremony Music, Monograms and Music Themed events.

After almost 35 years in the DJ business we look forward to what the next decade has in store : )
